Dallas, Texas - The Atlanta Hawks beat the Dallas Mavericks 135-120 on March 18, 2026, at American Airlines Center.^[1] During the third quarter, Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga, 23, grabbed a rebound near his team's basket with about five seconds left, dribbled once and threw a 75-foot inbound pass that banked in as a 3-pointer off the intended recipient Jock Landale under the Mavericks' basket.^[1]

Kuminga reacted with surprise, placing his hands on his head after the basket.^[1] The shot marked the longest made field goal by a Hawks player during the NBA play-by-play tracking era, which began in the 1997-98 season, surpassing Jason Terry's 63-foot make on January 5, 2000. It ranks as the sixth-longest such shot league-wide in that period, according to Elias Sports Bureau.^[1]

The win extended Atlanta's winning streak to 11 games, its longest since a franchise-record 19 consecutive victories from December 26, 2014, to February 2, 2015, during the 2014-15 season.^[1][2] The current streak is tied for the fourth-longest in Hawks history.^[1]
