The No. 4 seed Nebraska Cornhuskers defeated the No. 13 seed Troy Trojans 76-47 on March 19, 2026, in the first round of the NCAA Division I men's basketball tournament at Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

The victory marked the first NCAA tournament win in program history for Nebraska, which entered its 10th appearance with a 0-9 record in prior trips dating to 1986.[1][2]

Pryce Sandfort led Nebraska with 23 points, scoring 17 in the first half on five of eight three-point attempts. Jamarques Lawrence and reserve Braden Frager added 13 points apiece for the Cornhuskers, coached by Fred Hoiberg.[3]

Troy shot 13-for-46 from the field (28.3 percent), including 8-for-28 from three-point range, after an early hot start.

Nebraska advances to the second round against Vanderbilt, which beat McNeese State.

The Cornhuskers' previous tournament appearance came in 2014, a 74-60 first-round loss to No. 6 seed Baylor.[1][2]

Paycom Center has hosted NCAA tournament games in recent years, including first- and second-round contests in 2024.
