Brown accuses Embiid of flopping in 76ers' Game 7 victory

Philadelphia 76ers defeated Boston Celtics 109-100 in Game 7 of their first-round NBA playoff series on May 2, 2026, in Boston to advance. Joel Embiid led with 34 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, converting nine of 11 free throws. Celtics forward Jaylen Brown accused Embiid of flopping after the game.

Boston held a 3-1 series lead before Philadelphia won the final three games to eliminate the Celtics. Brown credited Embiid's impact on Boston's bigs and guards, saying via Mass Live: "We didn’t really have an answer for him. We tried a bunch of different things and he just, he’s a big body, and also he was flopping around, he got some extra calls and stuff like that, and they rewarded him for that."

Tyrese Maxey scored 30 points and VJ Edgecombe added 23 for Philadelphia. The 76ers shot 39% from three-point range while Boston made 13 of 49 attempts for 27%. Jayson Tatum sat out Game 7 after an injury in Game 6. Brown noted Philadelphia's No. 7 seed status defied tradition and praised Tyrese Maxey, Embiid, Paul George and coach Nick Nurse.

Philadelphia faces New York Knicks in the next playoff round.
